Soteria Vase

The Soteria vase bears the design of the floor mosaic from the 5th century AD, which was excavated in Antakya and can be seen today in the Antakya Archeological Museum of Antakya. This mosaic, believed to have belonged to a bathhouse called Soteria, depicts a female bust, possibly symbolizing ‘regeneration’. The Soteria vase made of amber glass is handmade, the glass surface on which the mosaic motifs can be seen is gilded with 24 carat gold, while each mosaic piece is colored by hand with a special glass color.
